So you want to know more, eh? Well, I'm a graduate of
West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a degree in music. I did my graduate studies in Music at
Temple University and am also a graduate of the University of Salzburg Summer Abroad in Salzburg, Austria, where I did some pretty intensive summer study. People who know me from the geeky side of my background don't know that I'm a trained pianist, and finished my musical studies with one of the most sought-after pedagogues on the planet, the redoubtable Eleanor Sokoloff of
The Curtis Institute of Music.
My background in technology began 10 years ago when I started working in the field of motion graphics and web design. After stints doing design and analysis I began working in video and film. The focus of my video studio is in the area of biographical, wedding and documentary-style videos as well as digital compositing and motion graphics. The focus of my web design studio is based on well-built, simple-to-navigate websites that use web standards.
I got the film bug a few years back when I saw
my grandfather featured in the HBO Mini Series,
Band of Brothers. Upon realizing the heroism of my grandfather, I was astounded by the power of film and the impact it had on my life. I also realized that had it not been for my grandfather, I wouldn't be here today. So I picked up a camera and just started documenting what I felt were "the important" life events that you would want to see over and over again. I also decided that this new-found passion tied to my experience as a web developer was the perfect model for my studio, and
Pixeldust Films was born.
I built and administer the wildly popular website
Wild Bill Guarnere.com which receives millions of visitors each year from all over the world. It was built as a tribute to my grandfather and given to him as a Christmas gift. At home, I'm the proudest dad on the planet and have a son and two daughters. My beautiful wife keeps me going with creative ideas, love, and just the right amount of circumspect.
Lastly, I'm a frequent clinician and guest speaker on such subjects as rapid video, E-Learning, Digital Asset Management, and Web 2.0. I've spoken at such events as the Learning, 2007 conference in Orlando, Florida and was a keynote speaker at the Digital Asset Management Symposium in New York, 2006. I'm also a long distance runner and completed my first marathon in November, 2007.
